"Yoga allows us to cultivate balance in our lives"
I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years but only completed my teacher training last year. Yoga has allowed me to be more grounded and kind to myself, and has helped my work through challenges that have arisen in my life. It’s for this reason that I am passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga with others. This was what prompted me to complete my yoga teacher training in Goa India last year where I felt so lucky that my days were filled with yoga, food, yoga, swimming in the ocean and yoga!
In my day job I work as a mental health clinician, and this sits well with my passion for yoga. Although we know intuitively that yoga has benefits for mental health, more and more research is coming out in support of this.
My classes generally have a theme or intention in mind as well as a strong focus on the breath as an anchor to the present moment. I believe one of the most important part of the yoga practice is the ability to take the learnings and experiences cultivated on the mat into every day life.
